Parys Mountain

01 August 2025 - Eryri National Park, United Kingdom

Today's walk was around Parys Mountain on Anglesey, North Wales. Despite the name, it is not actually a mountain; it is a copper mine! After the actual mountains we climbed this week, this walk was a nice short 3.6km with only 234m of ascent.

A circular stone tower with purple flower in front
A windmill that was used to assist the mine in the removal of water from mine shafts.

A view containing orange heather, green fields and the sea
You can see all the way down to the sea from the top!

In addition to all the copper stone, there is a lot of purple heather.
Orange and purple ground with dry lake beds
You can see marks in the earth where tailings have been stored and old settling ponds.
