Solomons Temple

09 September 2025 - Peak District National Park, United Kingdom

Towing above Buxton is Grin Low hill inside Buxton Country Park. Buxton Country Park has some wonderfully hilly woods and is a great place for a family walk. The highest point of the country park is Grin Low hill atop which is a tower called Solomon's Temple. It was built in 1896 and is a 20ft-high Victorian folly replaced the ruins of a previous tower which was built by Solomon Mycock, a local farmer. You can go into the temple and wonder right up to the top.

It is quite a big hill to get up to Solomons Temple but the view is well worth it.
