Wendover Woods

15 August 2025 - Chilterns AONB, United Kingdom

Wendover Woods is a 325-hectare Forestry England managed woodland in the Chilterns AONB. There are trails and bridleways for all ages and physical abilities, although we went on quite a hilly walk.

From the car park, we started off by leaving walking through the woods up to Aston Hill Trig Point.

Aston Hill Trig Point was more orange than I expected.

From there we wondered back through the woods in a bit of a figure of eight loop. As part of this we passed Boddington hill fort, the location of an Iron Age hillfort. There is not much left of it (hence no photos) other than some plaques and information boards.

Around the woods there are lots of cute wood carved statues.

Occasionally, when there is a gap in the trees there are views of the countryside in the Aylesbury Vale.
